This week, Dolphin members packed a suite at the Montenotte Hotel to honour coaches Brenda O’Dowling and Carol Cashell. The evening paid tribute to Brenda and Carol’s many years of commitment, professionalism a
nd camaraderie at the Club.
Brenda and Carol are reclaiming their early mornings and are stepping back from coaching our AM squad. However, they will both remain involved with the Club and we look forward to them continuing as important and valued members of our community!
Current and past swimmers, coaches, parents, officials and patient partners all gathered to show their appreciation led by long-standing coach Paddy Power and our President Christine O’Halloran who made the main speeches. The Club, the swimmers represented by Club Captain (girls) Caitlin Desmond, and our new Head Coach Guan Zhixun all presented tokens of their appreciation. The photos here capture some of these moments in an evening that we will need little help to remember.
A Club Life Member kindly observed, that people of the spirit of Carol and Brenda do not really want to be thanked- but nevertheless we thank them for letting us do so! The future of Dolphin as a top Club will be assured if the Club can attract and retain your kind of loyalty and contribution at all levels. So please accept again the sincere thanks of your grateful Club – whether you want them or not!!
